Your whole day,
at a glance

The moment you open the app, you see what matters: your latest reading, where you stand, and how things have been trending over the last 24 hours.

  • Live reading card color-coded green (in range), amber (high), or red (low), with a 24-hour sparkline
  • Time in Range and average glucose stat tiles, calculated from your last 7 days of CGM data
  • Dawn Effect card appears automatically when morning readings are consistently higher than overnight
  • Log fasting and bedtime finger stick readings with the + button, export as CSV, or swipe left to delete

Explore your data
any way you like

Choose your time window, your chart type, and exactly what you want to overlay — then share the result directly with your care team.

  • 7-day, 14-day, 30-day presets or a fully custom date range
  • Line chart for spotting trends; scatter chart for seeing density and outliers
  • Color by Value: each point colored green, amber, or red against your target range
  • Overlays: add your target range band, fasting readings (amber), and bedtime readings (blue)
  • Export the current view as JPEG, PNG, or PDF — with TIR, average glucose, and reading count included

Patterns

Find the patterns
behind the numbers

Patterns breaks your day into four time periods and shows you where your glucose is consistent — and where it isn't.

  • Four customizable time periods: Night, Morning, Afternoon, and Evening
  • Mean glucose and standard deviation for each period — narrower SD means more consistent readings
  • Hourly pattern chart: your average glucose for every hour of the day, with a ±1 SD shaded band
  • Dawn Effect flagged automatically when your morning average exceeds overnight by 10 mg/dL or more

Understanding your data

The three numbers that matter most — and what they actually mean.

Key Metric
Time in Range (TIR)
The percentage of readings within your target range. A TIR of 70% or higher is a commonly recommended goal, though your personal target should be set with your healthcare provider.
Key Metric
Average Glucose
The mean of all readings over the selected period. Average alone doesn't tell the whole story — two people with the same average can have very different patterns of highs and lows.
Key Metric
Standard Deviation
A measure of variability. A lower standard deviation means more consistent, predictable readings. High variability can be just as important to address as a high average.

Common patterns to look for

Dawn effect
A rise in the early morning hours driven by hormones like cortisol and growth hormone — visible as a higher Morning average compared to Night.
Post-meal spikes
Look for peaks 1–2 hours after your typical meal times in the hourly chart. Compare different meal times to see which have the most impact.
Overnight trends
A gradual rise overnight may indicate the dawn effect; a gradual fall may suggest overnight insulin is too aggressive.
Activity effects
Exercise typically lowers glucose during and after activity, though intense exercise can temporarily raise it. Look for dips on active days.

Your data stays yours

All glucose data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud. Glucose Analysis reads from Apple Health and writes finger stick readings back to it. No data is ever sent to external servers — not even anonymized.
